Sunrise After Breakfast

During my stay at the Chom Tong Insight Meditation Center in Thailand (http://goo.gl/7p6buu) I would have finish my breakfast around 6:30am to take a short walk just in time for the stunning sunrise that would unfold every morning. I wasn't allowed to use the camera but I guess this picture justifies breaking the rules.

I like this photo because I purposely used this perspective which, with the help of the little bridge, subconsciously guides your eyes from the fore- through the middle- and into the back-ground. I found this little place during an early fotowalk in Thailand. The local monks are using this hut to meditate. It was fascinating to see how all the birds showed up as soon as the first rays were hitting the ground.

I wasn't supposed to take the camera out, those were the rules at the buddhist temple... After witnessing these beautiful colors for a few times I just had to capture them. I guess thats the hunter in me.

Surf Into The Sunset

While I was working on the "South Shore Collection" for my T-shirt brand (Moke Couture) I was cruising various surf breaks of south Oahu in order to print them on the shirts. This shot is from Waikiki's "Canoes" break just before sunset. The swell was not very big this morning but I still like this shot for the extreme color contrast. I used a 200mm lens for it and I think I need to get a better zoom lens as it was a lot of fun!
